Paragon Service Dogs is excited to introduce Creer Cosmo, a truly special Career Change Dog who is ready to find his perfect forever home. Discover more about Cosmo below.
At Paragon, our dogs are the core of our program, and we recognize that working as a service or facility dog is not for every dog. So, we listen when a dog signals that they'd prefer a "career change" to that of a best friend or family pet, which are also incredibly important jobs. On rare occasions, Paragon will have a career change dog, a returned service dog due to the passing of a human partner or other life circumstances, or a retired service dog needing a forever home.
When a dog is available for adoption, Paragon will post the dog on this page along with photos, their story, and instructions on how to apply.
MEET COSMO
CAREER CHANGE ADOPTION OPPORTUNITY
Paragon Service Dogs is excited to introduce Cosmo, a truly special Career Change Dog, ready to find his person and forever home.
Cosmo is a three-year-old Bernedoodle who has received extensive training as a hearing service dog. However, his fascination with quick-moving furry friends—like squirrels, cats, and rabbits—means he isn’t able to meet the extremely high reliability standards required for service dog work. What this does mean, however, is that he now has the opportunity to become an extraordinary companion for the right person.
He is incredibly intelligent, responsive, loyal, playful, and remarkably joyful. He will happily curl up beside you for an evening of your favorite shows, but he’s equally adventurous, joining in on walks, hikes, and outdoor excursions. At home, Cosmo is a well-mannered, easy companion. He travels and settles in nicely, making him a wonderful partner for both everyday life and adventures. Cosmo has many dog friends, but he can be selective, so a meet-and-greet will be required if there is another dog in the home.
He will do best in a home with:
- Someone who works from home or is retired
- A fenced yard
- No cats or small prey animals
- Someone committed to continuing his training
More than anything, Cosmo is looking for his person—someone to share a deep, meaningful bond with. He is the kind of dog who will always offer unwavering loyalty, companionship, and love.
Cosmo is incredibly dear to us, and we are committed to finding a home that will truly treasure him—because he is, without question, a treasure. Cosmo will always have his person’s back. We are committed to selecting a family that will, in turn, always have his back.
Are you Cosmo's person? You can learn more about Cosmo and how to apply to be his person by contacting Brianne Corbett, Director of Client Services.
