Volunteering is a rewarding experience that allows you to give back to the community, learn new skills, and meet like-minded individuals. Your time and effort can make a significant difference in the lives of those we serve, empowering you to be a force for good. We understand that not everyone who wants to volunteer with us can bring a dog into their home, and there are many ways that you can help us that do not require that level of time and house commitment. You can still have a profound impact by becoming one of our Paragon Pack volunteers!

Paragon Pack volunteers offer their skills and time to support Paragon's mission in all kinds of ways! The various avenues in which you can volunteer without bringing a dog into your home include applying to become one of the following:

Dog Enrichment Volunteer

Provide outlets for the dogs to de-stress and engage in behaviors that promote their well-being. This may include exercising, playing with, providing enrichment activities, and grooming our dogs.

Facility and Grounds Volunteer

Assist with facility-related tasks that need to be completed on-site at Paragon. May include landscaping, painting, and special projects.

Community Outreach Volunteer

Help raise awareness and promote Paragon’s mission in the community. This may include hosting information tables for Paragon at community events, assisting with social media, assisting with community presentations, and assisting with fundraising.

expectations of paragon pack volunteers include:

• Follow Paragon’s policies, procedures and guidelines
• Represent Paragon’s values and engage with the public in a positive and professional manner
• Maintain effective communication with Paragon staff and other volunteers
• Be reliable and timely when committing to a volunteer activity
• Ideally, can commit to at least two hours of service per week

how can you become a paragon pack volunteer?

• Fill out the Paragon Pack Volunteer application form
• Visit Paragon, tour the facility, and meet some of the team during a scheduled meet-and-greet
• Complete a criminal background check ($20 fee paid by the volunteer)
• Participate in an orientation and handling session to learn more about our program and dogs and best prepare you for your role
